Nikolas Papadopoulos

PhD student

Nikolas is a fourth-year PhD student in the LIINC Lab studying human-AI interaction through multimodal signals such as eye tracking, pupil dilation, and EEG. His work combines behavioral experiments with machine learning to understand how humans evaluate and collaborate with AI systems, and to develop models that use implicit feedback for improved alignment. His interests span neurophysiological markers of attention and decision-making, preference modeling, and human-centered AI design. Prior to Columbia, he completed an M.Eng. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and a Minor in Psychology at the American College of Greece. Outside of the lab, he enjoys traveling, searching for new music, and finding interesting corners of New York City.
