PhD student
Ani is a second year PhD student in the LIINC Lab. His research focuses on developing closed-loop neurofeedback systems and multimodal sensor fusion deep learning architectures. He is particularly interested in brain-computer interfaces that integrate neurophysiological signals for arousal regulation and cognitive performance enhancement. Prior to Columbia, he earned dual degrees in Computer Science and Cognitive Science from UC Berkeley, where his research spanned neuromorphic computing, hyperdimensional computing, and neural signal processing. His work has been published at IEEE ICRA and Brain Informatics. Outside of the lab, Ani enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and frolicking around the parks of New York City.
